It is important to note that the Aanderaa application you flashed onto the dev kit is a production application for a Current Meter sensor over here at Sofar!
I would recommend continuing to follow the guides here!
Specifically this one which will get you set up developing code for your development kit!

it is not an easy process and something we are trying to improve everyday.
For future reference, the following page has a one-click installer that will take care of this process for future updates to Sofar Spotter and Bristlemouth Nodes(but not your dev kit)! In order to update your dev kit you will have to follow a similar process.
