We aim to build multiple low-cost Sargassum trackers and deploy them on a 2024 cruise in the Great Sargassum Belt, enabling us the opportunity to
- Test our integrated low-cost chemical sensing drifters and
- Provide the first in situ chemical data from these floats.
This opportunity will enable us to gain greater insight into the impacts of Sargassum on the surrounding sea water. We aim to integrate Bristlemouth technology with our low cost chemical sensing sensors and tracking system for this deployment.
